Obituary of Elizabeth Sharp Campbell Mol

October 17, 1924 - Winnipeg, Manitoba

March 9, 2024 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Elizabeth (Betty) Ross Mol (nee Morrison) on Saturday, March 9, 2024.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her daughter Donna Ross, stepdaughter Anja (Leo) Mol, stepson John (Linda) Mol, grandchildren, David Morrison (Terri), Stephen Morrison (Irma), Trent Threadkell (Sue), Colleen Threadkell (Gene), Terri Coldwell (Trevor), Ryan Tilsner (Megan), and Jennifer Grant (Brett); two sons-in-law, Sig Tilsner and Bob Threadkell; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Betty was predeceased by her first husband Bruce Ross, her second husband Iman Mol, her parents, Alex and Liz Morrison; her daughters, B’Anne Tilsner (Ross) and Barbara Threadkell (Ross); and her sister Sheila Debney (Morrison).

Betty lived her 99 years to the fullest. In 1946, she was one of the first young wives to move to an acreage in the Soldier Settlement in Bowness and it was a wonderful place to raise her family. She loved gardening, singing in the United Church choir, and sharing a laugh over tea with Lil Conkin, a wonderful neighbour. When her children grew and left home, Betty began a new phase of her life in her second marriage to Iman Mol, and together they began a dairy farm just northwest of Camrose. She loved the farm and her wonderful collection of birds. Aside from her gardening talents, Betty also hand-dug her own pond and made a waterfall, a beautiful home for her goldfish and a water source for lots of wildlife. No one enjoyed a game of cards, a singalong, or a party more than her. She was a happy, upbeat lady who filled her 99 years of life with family, so many friends and lots of laughter and she will be missed.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
