She was born August 12, 1925 in Cardston, Alberta to the Low family; a pioneer family who settled there in the 1890’s. Maxine moved to Calgary in 1930 attending McDougall Elementary and Junior High School. Muriel was born in Alberta, and started working at Swifts meats to help supply the troops in WWI. She married Bill in 1950 and raised her family. Muriel enjoyed curling, golf and was a member of The Earl Grey Golf Club.
Muriel is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Sonia Slocombe, her daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Darrell Slaght, her grandchildren Michelle, Leesa, Taylor, Jana and her great-grand children Sam, Mackenzie, Jacob and Sophia. Muriel was predeceased... (Read complete obituary here)

Joy Albright of Calgary, passed away peacefully at the Beverly Care Centre on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at the age of 87 years with her loving family by her side.
Joy was born and raised in Winnipeg, MB. In 1949, she married New York Ranger Forward, Clint Albright. Clint and Joy moved with their first two children to Trail, BC in 1954, where Clint worked as an engineer with Cominco. Following two additional children, they moved to Kimberley, BC in 1966. Five years later, the family moved to Calgary where Joy and Clint spent the remainder of their lives.

Ruth Cain, beloved wife of Marty Cain of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the age of 68 years.
Ruth was born in Newcastle, New Brunswick on November 30, 1943 to Donald and Jean Hoddinott. Ruth and Marty met in high school in 1960. They became best friends and enjoyed a wonderful life together for over 50 years. Ruth will be remembered for her humour, her forthrightness and her character. She definitely practiced the mantra first put into words by Mahatma Gandhi; “You must be the change you want to see in the world”.

Duncan McPherson of Calgary passed away while visiting friends in Kelowna on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the age of 87 years.
Duncan was born and raised in Dinsmore, SK. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan as a Pharmacist. While working in Edmonton he met and married Eleanor Douglas and their daughter Norie was born in 1952. They returned to Dinsmore where Duncan became the Pharmacist, Postmaster and Fire Chief.
