ZYGADLO, Jan (John)

January 18, 1923 – Krakowskie, Brzesko, Pojavie, Poland
October 29, 2015 – Calgary, Alberta

With great sadness, we say goodbye to a wonderful husband, Dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.

John served in the Polish Army 2nd Corps, 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division during WWII. He came to Canada in 1946 and in 1950, he met and married Anna Dubics and remained married for 65 years residing in Calgary, AB. We loved him with all our heart, and we are going to miss him every day, and life won’t be the same without his humor, his smile and concern for all his family who he loved so much.

Jan is survived by his loving wife Anna; daughters Shirley, Doreen and families; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his only son Tony in 1986.

As requested by the family, a private service will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Jan Zygadlo, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

  2. To all the Zygadlo family

I am so sorry to learn that your beloved husband, dad and grandfather passed away. Our paths crossed for only a short time, but have considered you all friends. Jon was fortunate to have you by his side always during his illness, and it had to be a blessing to him. His passing will leave a big hole in your hearts, but am sure that you have many happy times to remember with Jon, and hope that these will help you through this sad time. Special blessings to Anna, who will miss him terribly.

    Sincerely, Mary McCrae
