WULDER, Johannes (John) Gerardus

October 22, 1938 – Amsterdam, Netherlands
November 12, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

John Wulder passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, a few weeks after his 80th birthday, with family at his side.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, John moved to Canada as an optimistic eighteen-year-old seeking adventure. He worked his way across Canada eventually settling in Calgary and meeting Yoka. John worked for many years in precast concrete, contributing to many of the buildings still forming Calgary’s skyline. John was a great dad, always willing to spend time with his kids and was supportive of their sporting or other endeavours. He lavished the same enthusiasm on his grandchildren in his later years. John and Yoka spent their winters in Mexico for many years developing a large and fun loving circle of friends.

John leaves behind his wife of fifty-seven years Yoka; four sons, David (Karen Pecharsky), Mike (Karen Laberee), Jason (Tracey Cook), and Kevin (Nina Pudwell); and grandchildren Perry, Eric, Hank, Samantha, Cleo, Tyler, Jamie, Malek, and Lincoln. Besides relatives in Canada and the Netherlands, John also leaves behind a large group of Dutch friends as well as many golfing buddies.

John is predeceased by his sister Ans and parents Johannes and Grada.

His family would like to offer thanks to the thoughtful and professional caregivers at the Southwood Care Centre, Hospice Unit.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of John Wulder, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB, T2X 3J3, Telephone: 403-256-9575.
