WOODSON, Wesley George

March 25, 1944 – Lachine, Quebec
July 14, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

On Sunday July 14, 2019, surrounded by family, Wes Woodson passed away peacefully at the age of 75, following a brief illness.

Wes loved to travel and see the world with Norma as well as spend time with friends and family in Hawaii, Arizona, and Montana. His daughter Krista surprised him in Arizona in March to celebrate his seventy-fifth birthday, one of many surprise visits they enjoyed together. He took up golf late in life and spent hours practicing his swing in hopes of one day beating the boys!

Wes will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend Norma, his daughters, Krista (Marco), Patti (Frank), Cara (John), his son Chad (Krista); his six grandchildren, Madison (Marko), Brad (Emily), Taylor, Patrick, Thomas, and David; and his two great-grandchildren, Novak and Mila. Wes will also be fondly remembered by his first wife Bev (Marcel), two brothers, Brian (Shelly) and Jim (Marcia); as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Wes was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Lil Woodson; and his daughter Kim.

A Celebration of Life in memory of Wes will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., at the Carnmoney Golf and Country Club (44001 Dunbow Road, De Winton). If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 200, 119 – 14th Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6 Telephone: (403) 264-5549, www.heartandstroke.ca.

Our deepest condolences on the loss of a wonderful husband, brother, father, grandfather and friend, Wes. In the time I was lucky enough to spend with him at home, around the pool in Hawaii or golfing in Arizona he never made me feel anything less than family and I will cherish the memories my family and I were able to have with him. The loss will be felt by many but his memory will live on in his family & many friends.
All our love during this time and always,

  8. Dear Norma and family,
Del, the kids and I want to pass along our heartfelt condolences to you and the entire family. Norma, when we saw you at the Phoenix airport in May, you talked about the wonderful vacations that you and Wes took in early retirement. We are so happy that you have those fond memories to look back on and that you got to experience so much together. We hope you find some comfort when you think of all the special times and just the day to day love that you shared. Big hugs and love from us – Del, Marie, Lindsay, Tanner and Rylan Toth.
