WOODHOUSE, Irene (nee Land)

November 30, 1926 – Manchester, England
October 31, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heartfelt sadness that we say goodbye to our beloved mother and grandmother Irene Woodhouse. Mom passed away in Calgary on October 31st, 2018, at the age of 91 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband James and only sister Ivy.

Irene will be forever remembered by her two daughters, Karen (Robert) Peter and Janice Woodhouse; one son, Allan (Helen) Woodhouse; six grandchildren, Susan, Jennifer, Robert, Colin, Lori and Ryan; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members here and in England.

Mom was a war bride who bravely left her life in England, sailing on the Aquitania to join her new husband in Canada at the end of the Second World War. They initially lived in Prince Albert before moving to Estevan where they made their home for over fifty years.

A private service will be held at Saint John’s Columbarium in Saskatoon on Friday, November 9th, 2018. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada (donate here).

In living memory of Irene Woodhouse, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E., Calgary, AB, T2A 3V9, Telephone: 403- 248-8585.
