August 3, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Derrick Roy Wonnacott beloved husband of Roxane “Rocky” Rasmussen of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at the age of 58 years.

Derrick was a master sheet metal mechanic. He began working in sheet metal at the age of sixteen. He founded Airmasters Heating Ltd. in 1993 with Suzanne Wonnacott and ran the business successfully for twenty-four years until he proudly passed the reins to his daughter and son-in-law. If three words could be used to sum up his life they would be integrity, loyalty and generosity.

So sorry and surprised to hear of Derrick’s passing. He ensured that we were happy with our furnace in our new home in Turner Valley only 2 years ago. He was vibrant, open, honest and ensured we had his emergency number to call just in case we required his services. Our sincere condolences go out to the entire family.

  5. I’ve known Derrick since I was 12 years old, and loved him always. He was a lovely boy, who became an even lovelier man. When I last saw him this spring, his smile erased the years, and he was the boy with the white-blonde hair who cheered me on from behind the backstop when I played baseball at Cambrian Heights Elementary in Calgary. Always my champion, always my friend. I will hold you in my heart forever, dear Derrick. Godspeed.

  18. Floyd and Heather Rogers

I regret having lost contact with Derrick in the last few years. I got to know he and Suzanne through many real estate transactions. Derrick had no trouble making good decisions and I know he really did put his family first. Just a nice, down to earth guy and I’ll always wish I had kept in closer touch. Our condolences to Derrick’s entire family!
