WISSER, Ryan Dean

November 23, 1974 – Tisdale, Saskatchewan
August 1, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Ryan Wisser beloved son, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the age of 44 years.

Ryan was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan on November 23 1974.

He received his primary education in Leduc, Alberta and graduated with his secondary diploma in Ontario. His versatility in the workforce was evidenced in the blue collar pipelining jobs, cooking in the food service industry, and his foray into business where he managed and co-owned a deli with his mother in an industrial area of Calgary.

His cooking skills found their way to an institution for incarcerated youth where he quickly developed respectful and authentic interactions with staff and inmates alike. Ryan loved good food and because he knew his way around the kitchen, others benefited from his skills too. We will always remember him cooking for his cousin Trevor’s stag party and feeding family and friends his specialties.

Most of all we will remember Ryan for his inherent kindness and thoughtfulness. He was gentle with children, pets and the elderly and infirm.

Ryan was unassuming and down to earth and derived great joy in the simple things life has to offer. His music, the fishing trips, playing cards with friends, and watching hockey occupied his leisure time.

He loved and respected his relationships with his extended family of cousins, uncles and aunts and grandma Wisser who will grieve his passing. Although he was not a public speaker as such, he stepped up at his cousin Trevor’s wedding where he delivered the toast to the groom as well as serving as best man. Ryan was a huge source of support to his mother Linda especially in recent years when her mobility became challenging. He will be forever loved and missed.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

  11. Kerry and Sally Wisser

We are heart broken to hear of Ryan’s sudden passing. We just returned from the cabin on Wednesday night and heard the tragic news. Unfortunately we were unable to attend the funeral as Kerry had to fly out to work the next day. We have not saw Ryan for many years but we remember Ryan fondly as a kind and gentle person from the Wisser annual fishing trips to Canoe lake. In fact we still use Ryan’s special meat ball recipe that he was kind enough to share with us.
Please know that we are holding you in our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Please let us know if there is anything we can do. We know you will be getting lots of support from the rest of the Wisser families.

    Kerry and Sally Wisser
