WINTERS, Bryton Lee Tyson

December 25, 1993 – Calgary, Alberta
August 14, 2018 – Bassano, Alberta

It is with a tear soaked heart I am announcing the death of our son, Bryton Winters, on Tuesday, August 14, 2018. Bryton was born on December 25, 1993 to his mother, Stacie Winters. He came to live with us when he was 14 years old.

He was loved unconditionally by his mother and his five year old son, Sayber, along with Susan, Trevor, and Kyle Obrigewitsch, Stephanie, Nick and Serenity Pippin. He also leaves behind a sister Alyssa Muzia and many other family members.

Bryton worked for K-Fitness, McLeod Trail, and his second home Yoon’s Martial Arts. His two passions were his son and Marital Arts. He loved to read and play with Sayber.

Bryton started Martial Arts when he was 15, consistently going and reaching his first Dan, black belt and was very close to earning his 2nd Dan, black belt in Hapkido. Bryton battled mental health and addictions all his short life. Unfortunately, in last month he was unable to see the light and forgive himself of his past mistakes. He died anguished and alone on a backroad by Bassano, Alberta. Thank you to all the emergency workers who helped us through the day yesterday.

A trust fund for Sayber is being set-up, if anyone wishes to donate instead of sending flowers and such, details will be posted when we have them.

No funeral service will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Bryton Winters, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Eastside, 5388 MEMORIAL DRIVE N.E., Calgary, AB, T2A 3V9, Telephone: 403- 248-8585.

  2. Corrina & Christian Head (Logan Titley) :

We are deeply saddened to hear of Brytons passing. Bryton was the first person my husband met when he inquired about hapkido. My son previously trained with Bryton and always enjoyed his “heavy workouts”. I pray for peace to surround his family and friends, as well as his little guy Sayber. Sending love and healing to all from the 3 of us.

  6. Bryton was my coach at k-fitness every morning. He always got after me for missing a day and would say, “long time no see!” Even if it had only been a couple of days. Looks like I’ll be the one saying it back to him one day. Sending prayers to Bryton’s family, especially Sayber. He would proudly speak of his boy every time we asked about him.
Rest easy Bryton. You touched more people in your short life than you realized.

I was devastated to hear of the passing of Bryton. He was my trainer at K-Fitness for a year and a half. He was always positive, encouraging and helpful. His smile lit up the room, especially when he talked about his son Sayber. He will be missed by so many people. To all of his friends and family, I am sorry for your loss. R.I.P Bryton
