July 2, 1920 – Garden Head, Saskatchewan
September 25, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Emma Wilkinson, at 98 years of age, went HOME to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, whom she loved and served. She is survived by her husband, Arve, who was her sweetheart in marriage for 79 years; her seven children Jerry (Dick) Derksen, Rod (Joan), Wilkinson, Carrie (Winston) Sproule, David Wilkinson, Doug (Sandy) Wilkinson, Verna (Mike) Walrod, and Sandra (Lloyd) Dame.

She was the matriarch of five generations: seven children, nineteen grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren, and twenty-two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by Isabel, her youngest sister, fondly known to us as Aunt Patty; her sister-in-law Bona (Glen) Engel, and many nieces and nephews. Emma was pre-deceased by her Father and Mother, Frank and Theresa Schreiner; four siblings, John, Theresa, Frank, and Jake; one granddaughter, Debbie, two great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Emma was a lover of people; she touched them with her smile, a kind word including thank you; a letter; a card, complete with a carefully chosen scripture verse; or a Gospel tract. Her goal in life was always to share the Good News of Jesus with all she met.

Her family wishes to thank the staff at Clifton Manor for their kind care of our precious Mother; Gramma; Safta.

For those who would like to see Emma one more time there will be a viewing at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Dr. NE, Calgary) on Friday at 6:00 p.m. The Memorial service will be at this same Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday October 6, 2018.

Condolence Messages

  1. Arve & Family:
Sorry to hear of the passing of Emma. There are so many memories we share from the time we spent with you and Emma at Westbourne. The time comes when as a Christian we go on to meet the Lord Jesus. Emma is now enjoying that wonderful experience of being in the presence of her Lord.
The exciting thing is that that is not the end of it all. We too will make that trip and be in the presence of the Lord and Enjoy being with Emma again.
God bless you Arve and the family. May the comfort of the Lord give you joy and peace. Love you all. Bill Adkins
