WHITNEY, Kathleen (Kathy) Lois (nee Bull)

January 30, 1950 – Toronto, Ontario
March 10, 2019 -Tsuut’ina Nation, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kathleen (Kathy) Lois Whitney on March 10, 2019, at her home in Tsuut’ina at the age of 69 years.

Kathy spent her childhood in Toronto. She lived there with her son Keith and travelled with him and lived in Australia before coming to Alberta. She met, fell in love with and married her soul mate Lee Whitney. She made Tsuut’ina her home and proudly raised her son Keith and grandson Micheal in her home. One of her fondest memories was running her flower shop in Australia. Kathy loved visits from all her friends and family especially her grandchildren. Back in the day everybody was welcome and no one was turned away. She will be deeply missed by those who shared life with her. She will be remembered for her red hair, independence and her don’t take things to serious love for life. Kathy was always the life of the party. She loved her son and grandkids dearly and was very proud of all of them.

Kathy was born January 30, 1950 in Toronto, Ontario to parents Frank and June Bull. She leaves behind her son Keith (Jen) Whitney; grandsons, Cameron Running Rabbit and Micheal (Verna) Whitney; and five great-grandchildren Kaiden, Kiarra, Blue, Wind, and Micheal Jr; brother Gary Doig; sister Barb Wilson; brother-in-law Larry (Flora) Whitney; and her best friends and furbabies Roxy and Zues. Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Frank and June Bull; husband Lee Whitney; father and mother-in-law Lawrence and May Whitney; sister and brothers-in-law, Lynn (Peter) Kotyk, Loyal (Susan) Whitney; nephew Rick Whitney; and niece Reanne Whitney.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church (Tsuut’ina Nation) on Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Traditional Feast to follow at Kathy’s residence.
