Tashina Dale Weasel Head of Siksika Nation passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the age of 28. During Tashina’s time on earth, she was raised with the Blackfoot Culture and Navajo Traditions (Towering House People); (Born for the Blackfoot). Tashina is a descendant of the late Edmund Henry Sr. Navajo Code Talker. She was blessed with three beautiful children whom she loved and cherished dearly. Tashina graduated from High school in 2010 from Old Sun Community College. She has also successfully completed her Life Skills Program 2011, as well as the South Country Program in April 2016. Tashina played Basketball for Team Alberta Indigenous Games from 2002 to 2003. She has travelled all over Canada, The United States and Mexico. She has worked in many different areas in her life, as a great volunteer for the community. Tashina was talented with many musical instruments which include the clarinet, saxophone, flute and guitar. Tashina was well known for her loud outspoken personality, and her contagious laughter that will never be forgotten. Tashina had a loving caring compassionate heart, for her family and numerous friends. She loved playing basketball and various sports throughout her youth, the joy of travel and adventure with her family and friends always put a smile on her face. The honesty, generosity and openness she showed to those she met is why we love her and will never forget her. Tashina will be dearly missed by the many people she has impacted throughout her life.

Tashina is survived by her grandmother, Gladys Henry; children, Gladys, Dale, Kirkshina (Bubbles); loving and devoted parents Larry and Melvina Weasel Head; siblings, Matthew (Felina), Latisha (Vaughn), Jackie (Sam), Ellafaye and Sonia (Kelly); aunties, Marcella (Errol), Jean, Irene (Ed), Pearl (Boots), Christine, Virginia (Clem), Ruth, Pauline (Al), Flossie, Rose, Genieve (Jack); uncles, Raleigh (Tracy), Herman (Delores), Edmond Jr., Benjamin (Verelene), Samson (Patty) and Kent; numerous cousins; extended relatives, Weasel Head, Sleigh, Sitting Eagle, Black Kettle, Pretty Young Man, Calf Robe, Munro, Many Shots, Little Chief, Bear Hat, Crow Chief, Henry, Vandever, Tso, House, Chaco, Largo and Joe.

Tashina was predeceased by her grandparents, Marcel and Lucy Weasel Head; Edmund Juan Henry Sr.; aunts, Gloria and Dale Weasel Head; uncles, Gerald Weasel Head, Robert Henry and Randel Henry.

Tashina had many Friends in Calgary and surrounding areas, the family apologizes for anyone that we may have forgotten.

Wake Services will be held at the Gordon YellowFly Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation, AB) on Friday, May 5 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at the Gordon YellowFly Memorial Arbour (Siksika Nation, AB) on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Little Washington Cemetery. A Feast will follow after the graveside at Gordon YellowFly Memorial Arbour. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
