December 24, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend on December 24, 2018 at the age of 92, after a brief illness.
Kae was born in Calgary and raised in Turner Valley. She met her husband Norman while attending Mount Royal College. The couple married in 1948 and farmed in the Stavely area for several years, then moved to Kamloops B.C. before returning to Alberta and settling in Calgary in 1959 to raise their family of five children. Mum loved her home of 38 years in Kingsland and made it a warm loving place for our family and friends. We had many a wonderful celebration in that home and will keep those memories close. Kae treasured her memories of her many close friends, most of whom have predeceased her. Although she had challenges such as losing her vision and mobility in her later years, she kept a keen interest in family and friends and her sense of humour never failed her. She especially loved chatting with the younger generation. Kae enjoyed a good cigarette and cherished being able to sit back and share a puff with a good smoking buddy. Her fierce loyalty to the Calgary Stampeders will be fondly remembered.
Kae is survived by her son Cam and his wife Bonnie, daughter Katherine, son Tim and his wife Jamie, daughter Peggy and her husband Steve, as well as six grandchildren, Curtis, Clayton, Logan (Jeremy), Racheal (Ahmed), Marshall and Celeste. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Ray of San Francisco and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kae was predeceased by her husband Norman, (1999) and son, Jim (1983) as well as her parents Evelyn and Fred and her brother, Jim.
