  1. Norma Tersigni :

    My dear Gil , Tom and Jeroen;
    My most sincere condolences.
    Esther was a dear, generous and loving soul.
    Although our contact was sporadic she was a constant in my life for so many years. I admired her strength and her dedication to her family. She loved all of you so much. Part of that love was recognizing and focusing on your strengths. Tom your boys are grown but I recall so many stories about them as wee boys.
    Esther taught me so much about life , tenacity and caring . Not ever so long ago she gifted me with a rose bowl filled with orange roses.. she knew how to pick them as she loved flowers. I have kept that rose bowl filled every day since, near my mother’s picture as she too loved roses. I could go on and on but suffice to say
    Esther was a gift in my life that I will treasure always.

  10. Esther and I met in Holland.
    Our husbands graduated from the same university and found a job in Calgary in 1969.
    Once in Calgary Esther and I spent a lot of time together .
    We both had our children during that time.
    She shared with me her passion for antique furniture and jewelry.
    When I moved to Vancouver after 5 years in Calgary , Esther came to visit and every time would move furniture, help me buy more Antiques and make my house look like a home.
    I will miss her.
    My heart goes out to Gijs, Jeroen and Tom and my thoughts are with you on this difficult day.

  13. John and Shirley Moyse :

    Dear Gill, Tom and Jeroen,
    Our deepest condolences to you and your family at the passing of Esther. We knew Esther from our several trips to Maui, and we will always remember the interesting stories and conversations Shirley and I had with her over meals and coffee we had on the second floor Lanai in Kihei, over-looking the beautiful, and whale filled, Maalaea bay. She experienced great spiritual healing from her vacations to Maui, and she was always looking forward to travelling to this beautiful island every year, and in return bringing back clothes for those less fortunate.
    We both hope that she took some time to write about her struggles as a young girl, never knowing how blessed she would feel so much later in life. She loved Maui and we will miss her very much, knowing that a piece of her heart will always be on that island of sanctuary.
