Nina leaves behind her daughter Annette; son Adrian; and daughter Adele (Dean Zuchetto); cherished grandchildren Logan; Marissa and Chiara Gell, Keegan and Samantha Valerio, Amy and Ryan (Jennifer) Zuchetto. Nina is survived by her brother in law, Aldo Bercan and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she treasured.

Nina was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Tony; her daughter Alvina; sister Anna Bercan; sister and brother in law Lydia and Sam Taverna.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Unit 62 at the Foothills Medical Centre and the staff at Sage Hill Retirement Residence, especially those on the third floor, for making Nina’s last year very comfortable.

It’s always hurtful to lose a family member, but losing Aunt Nina is heartbreaking. I remember our family visits, hanging out at my parent’s house or around Uncle Tony’s and Aunt Nina’s kitchen table. I’m just terribly sad and send my prayers to Annette, Adele and Adrian and all of the kids.

I will always have fond childhood memories of all of us at your parent’s place for dinners, sleepovers, and even shopping for blue light specials with Nonna. I know Auntie (Zia) Nina was very passionate about helping children to learn to read. She was a woman who embraced all her responsibilities as a mother and in the community. She is admirable.

  10. Dear, Annette, Adrian, and Adele,

I am sorry for your loss. I have been reflecting about Auntie Nina and I remember she had a gift for hospitality. That day we all made Frappe together she was so happy to have us over. Today at mass I remembered how she would fully participate in mass always singing and following along in the hymn book. I imagined her in heaven singing with a full heart. I know she loved you all so much.

May the good memories of Auntie Nina bring comfort and peace to you all,

    Love, Murina Krahn
