Antonietta Vaccaro of Calgary, AB, passed away on May 31, 2018 at the age of 94 years.
Antonietta immigrated to Canada in 1965, arriving in Calgary with her family to meet and rejoin with her sister and family on Christmas Eve. She worked with Woolworths as a baker until her retirement. She made many lasting friends and was often known for making wondrous treats for those she cared for. She was passionate about baking and gardening, but most importantly, taking care of her family. Antonietta was much appreciated for her generosity and will be remember as a kind and loving person.
She is survived by her devoted sons; Frank and Onofrio Vaccaro of Calgary; brother and sister-in-law, Michele Antonio and Rina Vaccaro of Verona, Italy; cousin, Tony Vaccaro of New York, USA; As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends in Italy, France, and Canada.
Antonietta was predeceased by her husband, Vincenzino in August of 2006; parents, Francesco and Maria Nicola; her brother, Onofrio; sisters, Lucia, Maria Celeste, Maria Virginia, and Carmela.
Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary Mother of the Redeemer Catholic Church, 1714 – 14 Avenue NE, Calgary on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at McInnis & Holloway, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North following the Graveside Service.
