TUMBACH, Donald Edward “Don”

December 9, 1940 – Prelate, Saskatchewan
December 16, 2018 Calgary, Alberta

Donald Edward Tumbach beloved husband of Delores Florence Tumbach (nee Wandler) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the age of 78 years.

Don was born in Prelate, SK, and raised in Fox Valley, SK. Don pursued his studies at DeVry in Toronto, and accomplished a long standing career in telecommunications.

He married his wife, Delores on April 19, 1969 after they met through a mutual friend on a visit home from Toronto. The two settled in Calgary where they started their family.

Don enjoyed fishing, hunting, curling, and golfing. Once his family grew to include children, and then grandchildren, much of his attention turned to family activities.

Many people are impacted by Don’s presence in their life. He was generous, loyal, honest, funny, and above all put others before himself. His sense of humor and famous on the spot phrases is what he will be remembered by most.

Don will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife, Delores; two daughters, Becky MacDonald (Chris), Amanda Spence (David); and his four wonderful grandchildren, Katie, Cole, Taylor, and Nathan. He is survived by his four siblings, Blaise (Harvey) Shile, Bill (Judy) Tumbach, Roxanne (Allan) Ternes, Byron (Laurel) Tumbach, and sisters-in-law, Annette and Gail.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Mary; his stepmother, Anne; and brothers, Jim and Bob.

Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB), on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church (640 19 Avenue NW, Calgary, AB), on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Parish Hall. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
