TUCKER, Edward (Ed) Anthony

Edward (Ed) Anthony Tucker of Calgary passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the age of 87 years.

Ed was born on January 22, 1931. He came from humble beginnings growing up in the Crowsnest Pass during the Depression. His youth was spent hunting, fishing, riding horses, swimming in the Crowsnest River, playing hockey, and dances at Turtle Mountain Playground. After moving to Calgary, and meeting the love of his life, Gladys Travis, they built a full life. There was love, laughter, music, and dancing. He was surrounded by family who adored him, Gladys, and daughters, Suzanne, Wendy, and Toni, as well as five grandchildren and later five great-grandchildren. Ed was a man of integrity, love and hard work, who valued family above all else. He was a dedicated company man, who progressed through many positions throughout his career at AGT. He retired in 1987 as general manager at AGT Mobile Communications, now Telus Mobility.

He is survived by his children and their spouses, Wendy Broderick (Dave Sawatzky) and Toni (Kevin) Luini; his grandchildren, Mike Tucker (Danielle Houlden), Josh (Jessica) Broderick, Sean Broderick (Lindsey Chartrand), Tyler Luini and Lauren Luini; and great-grandchildren, Aubry, Bella, Sophia, London and Penny Broderick. He was predeceased by his wife Gladys Tucker (nee Travis), daughter Suzanne Tucker, grandson Justin Broderick, and his parents Ross and Anne Tucker, as well as his siblings, Roy, Ray and Jane.

Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
