TROTTIER, Ruth Muriel

May 13, 1937 – Innisfail, Alberta
January 10, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Trottier on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the age of 81.

Ruth was one of those rare people you meet in life who was as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. She spent much of her free time volunteering for various organizations including the Bowness Community Association and the Foothills United Church. Always working on improving herself, Ruth took courses and became a secretary. Appreciated for her sunny disposition and work ethic, her co-workers joked that if they couldn’t find her at her desk, she was probably cleaning out the fridge in the lunch room! Ruth enjoyed many activities such as playing cards, gardening, dancing and camping, especially with the Happy Wanderers’ Trailer Club. Best remembered as a loving mother and wife, Ruth created a wonderful home for her family where they enjoyed fantastic meals and good times with friends, relatives, and grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by her daughter Debbie Wilson (Stephen) and granddaughter Mariah; daughter Darlene (Robert) and granddaughters Jessica and Danielle; and daughter-in-law Midge Hargreaves. She was predeceased by her husband Raymond (2007) and son Roy (2012).

A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through

In living memory of Ruth Trottier, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Chapel of the Bells, 2720 CENTRE STREET NORTH, CALGARY, AB, T2E 2V6, Telephone: 403-243-8200.
