TRAUDT, Conrad

July 28, 1926 – Spruce Grove, Alberta
November 30, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Conrad beloved husband of Irene Traudt (nee Buehler) of Calgary, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the age of 92 years.

Conrad lived and worked at the family farm in Castor, Alberta until 1957, at which time he moved to Calgary to work at the Union Dairy. He met his future bride at the General Hospital Nurses Residence New Years Eve gala. They were married on September 26, 1959 at the Central United Church in Calgary. He was an avid and knowledgeable horseman, having grown up around them. His love for them continued throughout his life as he frequently attended the horse races at Stampede Park and Trout Springs Racetrack – perhaps named after him? 😉 Conrad retired from the Dairy in 1992. He enjoyed time in the Kananaskis mountains just West of Calgary and at the William Watson Lodge and campground.

Conrad is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Irene; his children Wayne and Bettina and their spouses, Veronica and Mike, and his two grandchildren Chantal and Jasmine. He is also survived by his sisters Marie and Esther and brother Walter.

Conrad was predeceased by his parents Christina Giebelhouse and Conrad Traudt both of Norka, Russia. Also his sisters Emily, Nellie and Annie, and his brothers John and Bill.
