Barney was one of the best. He had unending generousity with his time and a willing volunteer. Barney was also one of the best dancers around and could move even the worst dancers smoothly round the floor. Rest In Peace Barney. You will be missed. Deirdre

    Margaret, Liza and Bernard,
We have greatly enjoyed the many years of friendship with your Dad and he will be missed. Please accept our heartfelt sorrow.
We worked along side Barney as he dedicated himself and contributed to the theme of many Stampede floats. He was where he belonged, in the drivers seat, Barney, a leader once again!
We have attached a few photos that tell their own story.
    Sincerely, Gerry and Carole

    Margaret,
I have the fondest memories of your dad. One of my favourite was watching him drive the ICS float in the Calgary Stampede. He had such a great smile on his face a few weeks ago making his rounds at the ICS. I hope the memories of your dad keep you strong during this emotional time. God Bless.

We where very saddened to hear about Barneys passing.
I got to know Barney well through the I C S and through his non ending volunteering both there and with the Liffey Players.
And of course our games of cards which a few years ago where a regular occurrence Barney would like to quote the rules according to Hoyle ….which of course wouldn’t go down to well with the offending player which lead to a great debate (some could call it that) !!!!!
Barney a true gentleman…may he enjoy his new journey, as he did life itself.

I recall fondly as a teenager watching father and daughter taking staring roles at the Pumphouse Theater, and the resounding welcome/ genuine interest Barney always showed in how “Margaret’s gang” was doing, whenever we would visit William St. Always the consummate gentleman. 33. I am truly saddened to learn of Barney’s passing. I worked for a number of years at Woodwards while going to school. Barney was without question the best part of working there. He was one of the smartest and kindest men I have ever known. I am reasonably sure he would tell you I was the the worst cribbage player in the world but he always endured me as his partner( even when moved to throw his cards at me after a particularly ill advised play) when his more talented co-workers were unavailable. He was an enormous influence and our conversations/debates /arguments on virtually every conceivable topic live with me to this day. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
