TOOKEY, Michael Charles

June 12, 1957 – New Westminster, British Columbia
July 15, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Michael (Mike) Tookey, beloved husband of Donna of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the age of 61 years after a short but furious battle with cancer.

Mike and Donna met in 1975 and married in 1977 in Prince George, BC. Their son, Scott was born in 1979 just before they moved to northern BC. Mike worked in the coal mine and oilfield as a truck driver for many years. In 2008 they moved to Calgary, AB to be closer to family. Here Mike used his truck driving skills to work for Cedar Crest Lands Ltd and Prattco Excavating.

Mike loved watching all sports, particularly the Blue Jays. He was passionate about playing the game of golf, especially with family and friends. He loved to cook and was extremely talented in the kitchen. Donna and Mike enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and gardening together.

Besides his loving wife, Donna, Mike is survived by his son, Scott, and his daughter-in-law Melody Tookey. His extended family includes many sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. The entire family will be missing him with all their hearts.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive N.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. Thanks to staff at Agapé Hospice, Tom Baker Cancer Center and the Foothills Hospital.
