TODD, William (Bill) Alexander

April 3, 1952 – High River, Alberta
December 18, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Bill Todd of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the age of 66 years.

Bill worked City of Calgary for thirty eight years. He had amazing pride in his service for the City of Calgary and appreciated all the relationships he made over the years. He loved watching his Grandchildren play sports and spent weekends on soccer fields and ice rinks cheering them on. Bill loved to play golf and had an amazing group of friends he would play with. He measured his success by his family and his friendships. His greatest joy was watching these relationships grow and celebrate the success of others.

Bill is survived by his children, Scott Todd (Leanne Todd) of Calgary, Jason Todd (Michelle Grenier) of Airdrie; his grandchildren, Ethan Todd, Blake Todd, Chloe Todd; his siblings, Shirley Wallace (Russ), Ron Todd (Alice), Garry Todd (Peggy); and his dog, Molly Todd whom slept with him every night and jumped on him the moment he came home. She loved him dearly and we have found her lying on his shoes at the door with him gone.

He was predeceased by his parents, Robert “Albert” Todd, and Helen Todd (nee Cayley).

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Sunday, December 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Bill Todd, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

We are deeply sad for you, Scott and Jay, and your families for this terrible loss. I met Bill several times and kindness, humility, and a great sense of humour were always what I saw in him. What was also clear is how much you loved him. It is what we all would wish for, no matter what, just to be that loved.
Know that we love you and will stand by you as you grieve.

I got to know your Dad quite well in my younger days…he was such a great person and the love he had for you boys was immeasurable. I can only imagine how much he loved his grandkids. He was one of the best story tellers ever with such a great sense of humour….Rob & I and Della & him laughed until it hurt sometimes! Life changes, people grow apart…I always thought I’d see him again one day and was so shocked and saddened when I heard of his sudden passing. The good ones will always be remembered and Bill was certainly one of the good ones. Now his loss will be immeasurable…my heart aches for all of you. May it help you to know I will hold you all in my thoughts at this sad time.
    Sending my sincere condolences,

Scott, Jason, and your families and all of Bill’s friends and loved ones,
I am so truly sorry for this sudden and terrible loss. I enjoyed getting to know Bill through work at the City of Calgary, but really got to know him through the stories of times spent on the golf course with his “golf crew.” I will miss hearing his voice, seeing his warm smile, and hearing the hilarious tales from Fairmont that my Dad would come home with with every September. Sending you all love. Bill will always be in my heart.

  18. As they lay you to rest today Bill, my heart aches for you and your family. My life is so much richer for having known you. I always smiled as you had the ability to tell a story about everyone you knew, no matter how long. I realize that it was because you truly cared about everyone you shared even a moment with. You made everyone feel special through your kindness. Rest In Peace Bill. The memories of time spent in your presence will live on forever in all of us.
