December 12, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with heartfelt sadness that the family announces the passing of Annie Tiefenbach, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the age of 89 years.

Annie was born in Watson, SK, the youngest of fifteen children. Annie met her husband Eugene Tiefenbach, one fateful night in 1956 at the Trianon Dance Hall in Regina, SK. Married fifty-seven years, Annie & Gene raised their two sons, Timothy and Michael in their early years in Victoria, BC and finally settling in Calgary, AB.

A woman of faith and the heart of the Tiefenbach family, Annie had a real zest for life. Annie loved to chat with friends and family, dance, play baseball, read, pray, go for walks and play games/cards – especially with her grandchildren. Possessing a true servant’s heart, Annie faithfully cared for her family and friends through delicious cooking and baking from scratch and was an extremely talented seamstress who often tailored clothes for her sons, husband and many other family members and friends. Annie was a devoted mother and wife and was an active member of St Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church and the Catholic Women’s League.

Annie is survived by her husband, Eugene; sisters, Kaye Avram, Betty Halbach and Rose Duck; Sons Timothy (Jen) and Michael (Brandi McCormack); her granddaughters, Katurah, Madison and Alexia; grandsons, Trevor (Ashley), Tristen, Michael (Paige), Brandon and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Raiden, Thea, Maddilyn and Bentley. Annie will also be forever remembered by her godson Jock and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.

Annie is predeceased by her parents Rose and Frank Weisgerber and eleven sisters and brothers.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church (321 – 90th Avenue S.E., Calgary, AB [1]) on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Condolence from Kimberly Summers on December 18th, 2018 6:44 AM

Dear Annie and Gene,

I will give this another try. You were so special to Iain & I. Then came Jock.
Your love for children was unconditional. Asking you and Gene to be his godparents seemed so suiting. Children made you shine in such a way.
There are so many memories I have with you. You touched our hearts and am sorry for the past few years; I wish I had been around more for you.
I thank you for all the love you gave our Jock. All the recipes we shared & times at Fabric Land. Watching your face light up with a scratch ticket always made us smile.
But most of all am thankful for having you and Gene in our life.
Love always, Kimmer

Condolence from Carolyn & Elmer Lang on December 21st, 2018 2:08 PM

Dear Gene, Mike, Brandi and family, Tim and family,
We offer our deepest condolences in the loss of Aunty Annie. Although we have not been able to visit a lot over the years, we have always felt close through her Facebook posts, phone calls to Mom and us. I personally have so many great memories of her and especially treasured the times I spent with her in Watson and Regina. The best and most memorable occasion was being a bridesmaid at her wedding. It was so special. I know she will leave a huge hole in the lives of many who knew and loved her. We will always remember her and all of you in our prayers. Love, Elmer & Carolyn Lang and Betty Halbach

Condolence from Judy Henderson on August 2nd, 2019 12:01 AM

Sending our deepest sympathy to your family. I grew up on 29 Armstrong Cres a few houses from Annie. Annie made my wedding dress when I married Kevin back in 1988. Annie also made my twin sister Joyce wedding dress. She was so kind to us always. Judy Biggelaar (Henderson) and Joyce Biggelaar (Sulley)
