THOMPSON, Rigmor (nee Larsen)

Rigmor Thompson (nee Larsen) passed away in Calgary on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the age of 93 years.

Rigmor was born in Denmark on April 15, 1926. Her family immigrated to Canada in 1928 when she was two years old, eventually settling in the area of Dickson, AB. As a young woman, she moved to Calgary and married Joseph Thompson in 1950. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1972 and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1980. For many years, Rigmor worked for the federal government in the finance department. At the church she attended, Rigmor enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the piano, and teaching Sunday School. One of her greatest loves was volunteering with the Tele-Care Ministries.

Rigmor is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joseph Thompson; her parents, Odin and Anna Larsen; and her brother Aage Larsen.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences may be forwarded through
