  2. Darryl, Neil and family,
Sorry to hear about your mom. She and her parents, aunts and uncles were very good to me and my family.

At times, Jean seemed like a big sister to me, particularly during the great Calgary flood of 2013 when she took me into your home. Not surprising because Jean was one of the most hospitable people I have ever met.

    She will be missed.

Mrs Tatomir (I never called her Jean) as many others of us growing up didn’t out of the respect I had for her. I have so many fond memories of growing up at the Tatomir house and causing a lot of problems. Your mom took it all in stride. I remember a woman who had so much patience and love for everyone that looking back now it’s quite hard to believe. Whether it was street hockey in the alley, ripping down the alley in go carts, many BBQ’s and hockey tournaments she always seemed to be there and smiling. I will always remember her. Words can’t really say express my thanks for what she did, especially putting up with all of the crazy boys running a muck most days of the week. My thoughts are with all of you.

    Rest In Peace Mrs Tatomir

  4. Dear Darryl and Neil and your families,

My wholehearted condolences on the loss of your Mom.

As do the rest of the ” ’66 Dips”, I have many fond memories of training days and life in residence with Jeannie. She added many times of fun through those 3 years, and I feel so blessed that we were able to share time together with her at our 50th reunion 2 years ago.

May you find peace in the knowledge that her suffering is over.

  6. We are so sorry to hear of Jean’s passing. I was a member of the nursing class at University of Saskatchewan with Jean. I also knew her through high school in Saskatoon. We were able to renew acquaintances at the various reunions of our Dips nursing alumni. Jean’s sense of humor and friendship were always a feature of our gatherings.

We are so sorry for the loss of your mom and have memories of her kind and generous ways. When I was teaching at Silver Springs and you boys were there too, many many days a message would be sent for your friends who were in the community to head for lunch at Jean Tattormir’s home!! She was one of two women who had an open revolving door for the kids!! When I would pass my message to a student that they were to go to Jeans there was always a yippy and big smile !
In Silver Springs we all were very fortunate to have had warm welcoming homes like yours as well as great models for inclusion. You will miss your mom dearly and I hope you will find a gift in wonderful fond memories.
