John David Tackney was born August 23, 1946 to Michael and Emma Tackney in Niagara Falls, ON. John’s childhood was spent in New Orleans. He managed many hockey teams and enjoyed many games. More recently, John has been an avid fan to his grandchildren, frequenting hockey, ringette and lacrosse games and figure skating and gymnastics performances. John will be greatly missed by his family.

John is survived by Leslie, his wife of forty-seven years and their children, spouses and grandchildren, Shannon and Blaine Hunt and their two children Kaitlyn and Ethan; Conal and Janice Tackney and their three children Cameron, Brooklyn and Matthew; and Gavin and Kristen Tackney and their two children Isabel and Ewan.
