SUTHERLAND, James Madison (Jim)

February 8, 1950 – Edmonton, Alberta
December 7, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of James Madison Sutherland (Jim) who passed away quietly from his battle with cancer in Calgary on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the age of 68.

Jim was a man of many talents and skills, with a quick sense of humour that illuminated others. He was well respected and admired in the Oil and Gas Industry over the past 40 years. He had a natural gift working with wood and enjoyed his workshop. Jim will be greatly missed and a void will be left in out hearts.

Jim is dearly missed by his loving wife Cathie Sutherland of 37 years, his two sons Lucas and Scott; adored by his granddaughter Alexcia Rose. Never forgotten by lifelong friends who were loved and respected by Jim.

Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of James Sutherland, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE N.W. CALGARY, AB, T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.

    Dear Cathie, Luke and Scott

Your husband and Dad was one of the best men I ever knew. We first met over 20 years ago and I am proud to have worked with him at three different companies. Jim brought a sense of humour and wit that brought the best out of his friends, coworkers and his clients. Anyone that knew him will have a warm place in their heart for all their days.

A special memory will be the day we met for lunch at Nicks Steakhouse this last April. We talked about the years of working together and then he talked about his new little grand-daughter, Alexia Rose and sent me her picture with a smile I will never forget.
