SULLIVAN, Joan Margaret

January 10, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Joan beloved wife of Jim Sullivan of Calgary passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 85 years. Joan was born in Lethbridge, AB and spent her formative years on the farm with her parents near Chin, AB. She moved to Red Deer in 1939 with her parents, and enjoyed her high school years. After entering the work force, Joan was one of the first professional models in Calgary engaging in many fashion shows, tv commercials and loved it! Joan married Jim in 1969 where they enjoyed skiing, golfing (Canyon Meadows) and travelled extensively. They also attended CPO, Heritage Park and Chaine Des Rotisseurs functions over many years. Joan is survived by her husband Jim and son Greg Lee and his wife Diane. Joan was predeceased by her parents, Melvin and Margaret Cunningham and her brother Perry Cunningham. At Joan’s request a private family gathering will be held. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.     So sorry to hear that Joan has passed away. She was a lovely person. I will always remember bringing the boys to visit her on Halloween She would be delighted by their costumes and patiently look at all their candy with them as they spread it out in the Sullivan’s living room. Our many visits to your home with Joan are fondly remembered. I’m so grateful that Taylor and I got to visit Joan and take her homemade gingerbread men cookies before Christmas.
