STAHL, Sean Corey

March 12, 1987 – Calgary, Alberta
December 27, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved Sean Corey Stahl on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the age of 31.

Sean leaves behind his immediate family, mother Suzanne Stahl, step-father Andy Hogg, father Steve Stahl, sister Angela Smyth (Ian Lyon), brother Stuart Stahl (Mia Jensen), step-sister Andrea Davidson (Bryan), step-brother Jason Ferguson, and grandmother Audrey Shand; aunts and uncles, Gary Shand, Brian (Debbie) Stahl, Greg (Lorann) Shand, Jim (Sara) Duncan, Lee (Laura) Duncan, Linda (Don) Galbraith; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends, Jolene Yanyu and Alicia Creasy. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Margaret Stahl and John Graham, Jim and Lib Duncan, Gerald Shand, and his very special friend, Cody Woitas.

Sean was born on March 12, 1987, in Calgary, where he lived most of his life. Sean’s roots were in the community of Lakeview, where he attended Jennie Elliott Elementary, Bishop Pinkham and A.E. Cross Junior Highs, and Central Memorial High School. In 2014, Sean completed the SAIT Apprenticeship Electrician program, and went on to work throughout Alberta as a Journeyman Electrician. Sean was a thoughtful, meticulous perfectionist in everything he did. He was passionate about working out and keeping fit, and loved the outdoors where his happiest moments were spent skateboarding, snowboarding, mountain-biking and hiking. He also loved his vacations in North Carolina and the beaches where he spent summers with his family growing up. Sean was a friend to many, and will be especially missed by his family as well as the many people he touched throughout his life, including those in the addiction recovery community. He will always be remembered for his kindness and great sense of humour.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m in the Reception Centre. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Adolescent Recovery Centre (AARC), www.aarc.ab.ca, or the Calgary Dream Centre, https://calgarydreamcentre.com, or to your favourite charity.

  22. You were my first best friend in Calgary. You believed in me when no one else would. You never judged me for anything I did, or anything I was. You treated me with honesty and love, always.
You helped shape the man I am today, I have never forgotten or will ever forget all that you meant to me. I am forever grateful for every moment we spent together.

One moment that stands out the most is after my fight with Bret, I had adrenalin running through me brushing forming on my head and was feeling pretty awful. I remember you looked at me and you said: “You did it, you finished what you started, you did more than anyone else did”
That stuck with me. You’ll always be in my heart homie. Now and Forever. Your friend Scraps.
