SKINNER, Annette

August 12, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta

Annette, beloved wife of John Skinner of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2017 at the age of 80 years.

Annette was born in “The Grange”, Lucan, Co. Dublin, Ireland on July 1st, 1937. She went to school in Loretta College, Dublin. After marrying the love of her life John in 1959, they lived in Dublin where they raised their two daughters. In 2000 Annette and John immigrated to Calgary, Canada where they retired.

Annette will be lovingly remembered her husband John; Gwen (Brendan) O’Toole, their daughter Aideen; and Jackie (Michael) Drury and their children Marc, Ciera and Aiden. She was predeceased by her parents William and Mariah Kirwan, brother Donald and her sister Bernie.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, August 18th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountainview Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

She was gifted in creating a lovely home and was always very supportive of her Johnny who stayed close by her right to the last difficult days after Annette became unwell.     John and Annette have been wonderful friends and neighbours since they moved across the the street from us in 2000. The four of us us got along so well and Annette and I became like sisters. John was a loving and caring husband throughout Annette’s difficult days. I will miss her very much. Rest in peace my dear friend.
