SKEET, Allen Herbert

May 20, 1927 – Delia Alberta
December 17, 2018 – Cochrane Alberta

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our father Allen and with joyful hearts that we celebrate his beautiful life. He died peacefully at his new home in Cochrane on December 17, 2018.

Allen was predeceased by his wife Jeanne and his brothers Edgar, Allister and Lionel Skeet and his older sister Irene (Skeet) Bradshaw. Left to mourn are his children Jim (Susan) Skeet and JaneAnne (David) Maryka and his much loved grandsons Taylor and Eric (Maea) Maryka. Also left to mourn are his sister Peggy (Skeet) Tucker, and brothers Roy, Gerald, Gordon and Les Skeet as well as his many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by family overseas and friends locally.

His quiet strength was loved and admired. Always ready to help others, he enjoyed golfing, curling and time spent with family. He loved a good party to dance and sing at, and never missed a meal.

Funeral Services will be held at the All Saints Anglican Church (404 4th Avenue N, Cochrane, AB) on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Calgary Health Trust – specify funds to go directly to Sheldon Chumir Kidney Care Clinic, Suite 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB  T2J 6A5, Telephone: (403)943-0615, www.thetrust.ca .

  5. I worked with Al in the mid-70’s at Texaco Exploration.
    He was a good man and very good guy to work with. Allan used to tell me you’ll do good because “you have the gift of the gab”! Something Al always thought was essential to be a good landman.
