Our thoughts and prayers are with Roy’s family . I met Roy in 1962-1965 , we served together in Germany with the F.G.H . and have been friends ever since . We both ended up in Corrections and always had good memories. Talked to Roy last week, and he said he was going to see Mildred. What a memorable, short but pleasant visit . Rest in peace my friend. My heart goes out to Kevin and Shawn and their families at this very sad time. It is so hard to lose a parent, we live our lives thinking that they will always be with us. It creates such a deep sense of loss that is hard to endure and to rise above. Mildred and Roy have raised two strong young men and they will have many great memories of their dad and family times to help them get through the grief they are carrying. Wish we could be there with you for support but please know that you are in our thoughts

I was blessed to have met Roy through his friendship with my husband Bruce and his parents. Roy had dropped into their place in Coach Hill to ask if he could travel with them on the Trail Ride so many years ago. Roy had so much energy and brightened when he entered a room. He was so vibrant and always made me laugh. He will be missed.

Sorry for the loss of a good friend and horseman. We oth served on the LDSH riding team at the Sarcee stables. Roy and Millie attended my 80th birthday party and we had a lot of laughs. My girls enjoyed Mr Bottomsides visit as they fondly called him. The MACKAY clan wish “happy trails” to the Picadilly Cowboy..say hi to Millie for us.

The world is a smaller and quieter place today without our pal Roy. We will miss him, in so many ways. He was a good neighbour and a true and loyal friend. We never knew which “personality” would be on the end of the phone when he called but it was always someone interesting, with a great laugh and a funny story to tell. He once told me that when he died, he wanted to come back as one of my horses!! You’d be welcome in our pasture anytime Roy, however, I hope you have found Milly and are reading cowboy poetry some where with a great view of the mountains. Be at peace knowing you will be greatly missed.
