It is with broken hearts and sadness that we announce the passing of Jenna Leigh Sauer on July 25th, 2017, at the age of 18 years. She passed away, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jenna was a vibrant young lady. She was looking forward to studying GeoPhysics at the U of C, and playing and coaching more Ringette. She taught everyone about the importance of being positive in any situation, and to keep smiling. Few have heard her complain, even in the darkest of days.
Jenna is survived by her loving parents Leigh and Kelli; her best friend and so adored sister Lillian Hope, grandparents Larry and Leanne Sauer, Ruth Wood and Glenn Moore; great-grandparents Katherine Wood, Freda Sauer, Jean Bennett and recently departed Maria Collier. Also survived by her aunts and uncles Tracy & Trevor (Kathryn, Mackenzie) Aldridge, Taryn (Georgia, Jamie) Cossar, Shane & Stephanie (Ethan, Jacob, Aaron) Sauer, Tara & Chad (Ryan, Peyton, Ashley) Oborowsky.
Jenna was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Glenn Wood.
Funeral Services will be held at RockPointe Church – Bearspaw (255024 Lochend Rd, Calgary), on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the Church. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Jenna Sauer Memorial Fund, at CIBC. Funds will be used to create a legacy of giving in Jenna’s name, as per her wishes.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Dr. Ghatage, Dr. Anna Cameron, and all of the nurses for their kindness and expertise in giving Jenna the hope and strength to battle as hard as she could. They would also like to thank all of their family and friends, and in particular the Ringette Community, for all of their tremendous support.
