ROMBOUGH, Robert (Rob) Earl

August 14, 1960 – Calgary, Alberta
July 17, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Robert Rombough on July 17, 2018 at the age of 57 years.

Rob was born in Calgary on August 14, 1960. He attended Henry Wise Wood High School in Calgary where he met and married his best friend and high school sweetheart, Stephanie. In 1991 and 1993, respectively, he welcomed his children, Hayden and Alexandra, into the world who became the most important part of his life. Rob worked for PanCanadian Petroleum as Fleet Administrator before starting his own company, Gatekeepers.

Rob was a collector of antiques, friends, and memories. Always able to remember the tiniest of details, he had a great sense of humour and loved to reminisce, tell jokes and funny stories with his friends and family. He relished the quieter times having his morning coffee on the patio with Steph, sharing trivia or listening to his favourite songs. He was synonymous with his collectibles including his 78’ Trans Am, Wurlitzer jukebox, Coke memorabilia, and vintage arcade games. He was a great friend to many and soulmate to Steph. The stories won’t be the same without you, Rob.

Rob is survived by his wife, Stephanie Rombough (née Poon); his children, Hayden (and his fiancée, Naomi) and Alexandra; and his brother, Bruce (and his partner, Diane). He was predeceased by his parents, Bart and Mary Rombough.

A Celebration of Rob’s Life will be held at The Glencoe Club (636 – 29 Ave SW, Calgary) on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. 9. Reva Love (Faber) :

Sincerest condolences on the passing of Rob, or as I knew him when I was his grade 2 teacher, Robbie. I have taught hundreds of children over my long teaching career, but there are a few students who stand out and I remember fondly. Robbie was one of those children. He accomplished so much that year at Chinook Park School and proved to himself and his parents that indeed, hard work does pay off. May your happy memories of Rob always sustain you.

  12. I knew Rob in Jr. & Senior High School and he was a very dedicated friend. I spent the better part of a year at Rockyview Hospital with a bone infection and he was an amazingly great friend coming to visit me often. It would be the best part of my day when he would show up outside my window with his dog, I think Lance??? Such a wonderful sweet guy! My condolences to you Steph and your family!
