Mary came to our house for a couple of Christmas dinners these past few years. Full of spunk and sharp as a tack, she taught my teens how to play cribbage. Perhaps her greater gift to my family though, was being such a great and dear friend to my sister Melissa.
We will miss you Mary and we will continue to play crib in your honor.

My Condolences Doug, Gary and Shirley. I admired your Mother. In my mind as a child and even later years, to me she was “The Queen”
She had great determination, compassion. She had the courage to try something new medically. She would say in our monthly hour long telephone conversations, ” will try, maybe it will help me”
May she now rest in peace, no more pain
    Brian and Arlene

  3. I would like to extend heartfelt condolences to all of Mary’s family. She was a real trooper. We always had a good laugh when we’d go shopping or go for lunch. She’d always get a kick out of me telling the cashiers or waitresses that she was my boss, and they would be surprised, thinking she was still working. We’d then explain that it was years ago when we worked for the Attorney General. I’m glad I had the chance to visit her in hospice, to hold her hand and give her a hug and a kiss. You will be missed, dear friend. Sharon Hayes

I share your loss and send my condolences and deepest sympathy on the loss of your Mom.

Mary was a very dear friend to me over the 55 years we have known each other. We started off as colleagues at Calgary Magistrates Court in 1964 and our friendship continued as I moved to Victoria and later returned to the U.K.
We were more than friends -Mary was the sister I never had,and I felt a welcomed extended member of the Roll family over the years. We may not have seen each other often, but when we did get together it was like we had just seen each other yesterday – such was Mary’s warm and loving nature. And there are many, many others who will have similar feelings.

I am just so thankful that she has been part of my life.

While I am sad at the loss and feel a huge gap in my life, I have treasured memories of our time together and can still smile as I recall the happy times we shared together. I will always miss her. May she rest in peace.
