December 19, 1938 – Bognor Regis, England
June 8, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia “Pat” Robbins of Calgary, AB, on June 8, 2019. Pat was predeceased by her son Kevin and leaves behind her husband Stuart (Stu), son Stephen and his partner Donna, granddaughters Hayley and Chelsea, and a wide group of family and friends.
Pat and Stu lived on the same street in Bognor Regis, England meeting as toddlers when their parents took them for walks in their push chairs. As youth, they did many things together and were married in 1961. They immigrated to Canada in 1964 with their two boys and settled in Edmonton. In 1974 they moved to Georgetown ON, where they remain very close to the large network of friends from this life journey. Pat was an excellent athlete, enjoying many sports, including competing in the All England Athletic Championship in sprints and relay. She had a real zest for travelling with an adventurous soul at a time when travel was not as common, especially for women. Pat was always most comfortable around family, friends, and her dogs, always willing to share her opinions. Pat was an ardent member of the United Church and had a progressive theology which she loved to share. She was a founding member of Southminster Steinhauer in Edmonton, and a member of St. John’s in Georgetown, and St. Thomas in Calgary.
She leaves a love of life, an energy and enthusiasm, an inquiring mind and a love for all people. She will always be remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Thomas United Church (100 Hawkwood Blvd NW, Calgary, AB), on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. Reception to follow in the Church Hall.
