  3. I would like to extend sincere condolences to Les’s family. I worked for Les over 40 years ago at Hudson’s Bay Oil & Gas. He was a very kind and caring boss, and I guess you could say at that time somewhat of a ‘father’ figure to me. Once I left the workforce, our paths continued to cross, from the HBOG reunions, to sharing a room at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, each waiting to go in for surgery. (Not where you expect to run into your old boss) I think he was looking out for me as the first words I heard coming out of the anesthetic in the recovery room were from him asking if I was in there! I am pleased that I had the opportunity to have dinner with him at the last HBOG reunion two years ago, and then to ‘bump’ in to him at the Colonel Belcher when I was there visiting my mother-in-law. I’m pretty sure he was the only resident who did laps pushing his walker, continuing to promote ‘fitness’ by example. We enjoyed many good visits there. He spoke so highly of his family and cared deeply for all of you. Over the years, he also got to know my husband, and they always enjoyed talking farming and crops. I know he will be missed.
