Condolences for the family of “RIEGER, Frederick”

Condolence from Jayne & Don Stolz on December 13th, 2012 7:22 PM

To my beloved Aunt Irene & the entire Rieger family – we will all miss “Fast Freddy” so much. He was such a special person to us. He gave me away at our wedding in 1980, but I’ve been part of his extended family since long before that. As a little girl, I was a little afraid of him – he was all business. As I got older, fear turned to respect. He & my husband could (and did) spend hours sorting out the world’s problems – the two of them never ran out of things to talk about! Through it all though, even as a little girl, I loved him and both Don & I will miss him so much! We were all so lucky to have him in our lives. XO Jayne, Don & family xo

Dear Irene & family,
Our sincere condolences to you and your family. Remembering the good times we had at the farm; Fred, Herb, George & Harry bowling, snow mobiling, ice fishing, flooding the Ellison Rink at 2 am, Rovers games are memories that all come flooding back to me. Fred, Ray, George & Harry are talking (arguing) about the current NHL situation. Thinking of you all at this difficult time.
Love to you all, shirley

Condolence from Ann-Marie Reimer(Heemskerk) on December 15th, 2012 3:42 PM

Growing up in Ellison, one of the first and favourite families that come to mind are the Riegers. We have so many special, heart warming memories with their family. So sad when they moved away to Calgary. Fred used to always kid with me, making me laugh whether it was playing pool, cards, skating, catering days, watching baseball, swimming in their pool or just hanging out at their house and then visiting them in Calgary. On behalf of my parents as well I would like pass on our thoughts and prayers in the passing of your husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. Ann-Marie(Heemskerk) and Dan Reimer and Leo and Rita Heemskerk

Aunty Irene and Cousins,
I am saddened by your loss and offer my sincere condolences. I have fond childhood memories of Uncle Fred and your family. At this time of year it is ironic that I particularly remember a Rieger family Christmas party at your house in Ellison when I still believed in Santa.
