Condolences for the family of “RANDALL, Rita Mary (nee Cunningham)”

Condolence from Glenda Kemp on January 22nd, 2016 10:13 AM

I was so sorry to see notice that Mrs. Randall had passed away. My original encounter with Mr and Mrs Randall was when I was a cashier at Loblaws in lower Mount Royal in the late 1960’s. They were regulars and we formed a casual, friendly acquaintance. Many years later, I owned a small insurance brokerage, Bentley Insurance, and Mrs. Randall was one of my clients. Mr. Randall had passed away by then. Mrs. Randall and I had long talks about herself and Patrick… their courtship in Ireland, breaking up, reuniting and their eternal love for each other. It was the kind of story that could have been in a novel. She also spoke of her beloved dogs and when they passed away, she shared her sorrow with me. We talked on several occasions, even when she was in Lake Havasu. She invited me to join her there but I never had the opportunity to go. She was such an intelligent, interesting woman. I found out she was on the School Board (perhaps even chairman), among other things. I didn’t know she had attended the London School of Economics. I am not surprised. She was just so bright. I sold my brokerage in 2008 and lost contact with my clients but as I see her obituary, I regret not having reached out to her after the sale. She was an amazing woman and I am certain you are very proud to have been part of her family. I, truly, regret that I didn’t take the opportunity to tell her in what esteem I held her. She impacted our world for the better. My prayers are with you. Glenda Kemp

Condolence from Ms. Tricia Randall-O’Connell on September 26th, 2016 3:13 AM

To the family of the late Rita Mary Randall ( nee Cunningham):
I am sure I write for all the Randall family here in Dublin and in many far-flung places around the world – we are very sad to hear of Rita’s passing on the 18 January 2016. Like many Irish people, Rita and her husband Patrick emigrated and found new and exciting lives in other welcoming places.
Speaking for myself, and the mother of six adult children most of whom have emigrated, I can understand how difficult it is to keep in touch and to know what interesting lives people like Rita have led. Rita was truly a wonderful and interesting woman, and with all her great skills gave so generously of her time to so many worthy organisations. May she rest in peace.
( I am the eldest child of Thomas Finbarr Randall – Patrick’s eldest brother)
