PURDY, Mitchell Robert of Calgary, AB
October 7, 1998 – May 26, 2019
Mitchell achieved so much in his short life and overcame any challenges that crossed his path. He was particularly proud of being Kylen’s Dad and looked forward to seeing him grow and always being a significant part of his life.
Mitchell loved music and going to concerts. He was self taught and talented at playing acoustic and electric guitar and could easily pick up any melody.
Mitchell was very fortunate to have life long friendships particularly with his soul-brother Joel Davidson, as well as Kenny Jarrell and Seth Toth. His friends loved him unconditionally and many good times were had together by the Bow River. Mitchell never had a dull moment in his vibrant life.
Mitchell was a native of Bowness and absolutely loved his community. He was well-known and was often seen walking or skateboarding in the neighbourhood and always had the time to say a friendly hello to all.
He visited his grandmother Jan and step-grandfather Daryl, and enjoyed meals with them almost every single day of his life. Playing pool with Daryl was a daily ritual. He made time to sit and chat with any of the seniors. Mitchell had friends of all ages.
Mitchell enjoyed visiting his family in BC and was excited to get his license this year so he could drive out there with his best friend. He recently received his passport and looked forward to his first trip.
Mitchell will be most remembered for his one of a kind personality, free spirit, his hilarious sense of humour, his zest for life, being outdoors, love and compassion towards his friends, family, kids and animals
Mitchell is survived by his young son Kylen who he loved dearly; as well as his loving Mother Jill; stepfather Will; big brother and buddy Jeremy; best friend and sister Erica; nephew Aeslan; and brothers Chris and Curtis Lacey. He is also survived by many adoring relatives and friends.
Mitchell was predeceased by his father David Lacey and grandfather Bill Purdy.
Taken way too soon at the age of 20. We are shattered. Our Mitchell, forever loved, forever remembered, forever in our hearts
***In honor of Mitchell, wear your plaid shirt***
