Condolence Messages

  1. It was a real pleasure to know Cheryl. I met her through Barb Laloge and golf. Cheryl, Barb, Frances (my golf partner) and I are all teachers.

For two years, Cheryl came and stayed with us in Phoenix on our golf trips.

I also lost my husband to cancer so I know the journey her family has taken this past year and a bit and I can honestly say I have never seen anyone accept and deal with this diagnosis more graciously and positively.

Cheryl was a wonderful lady and I am happy I had a chance to know her

I offer my sincere condolences! Words cannot ever express what one feels at this time. However, many people are wishing they could find just the right thing to say to you. I will have been in Calgary just before the service so will not be able to attend. Please know however my thoughts are with you all and if I can ever help in any way just ask. Sincerely. Gayle Berry

  3. Renae Friestad :

What a loss it is to have Cheryl no longer with us. She was the truest of friends and the most selfless of people. I taught with her for several years and was blessed by her kind nature and generosity. She loved her boys dearly, dedicated her life to them, and cherished every moment that she was able to spend with her grandchildren. Oh that I could exude a fraction of her grace and poise! I miss her dearly but will always remember how deeply blessed I am to have had her for a friend.

  5. My sincerest condolences to the family of Cheryl. I had the privilege of knowing Cheryl as a gifted, compassionate, professional and caring teacher. Cheryl always made sure each child in her care felt special and loved. She was able to bring out the best qualities in every student and ensured that learning progresssed for all. I will always remember Cheryl as a warm friend and wonderful colleague.

  7. Virginia Madsen :

I was shocked to hear about Cheryl’s death. I worked with her at Queensland and she supported me with my extremely difficult class that year. She went to the principal and told him how I had so many very difficult kids. She was an amazing teacher. I also ran into her when we were both substitute teaching. She was such a beautiful soul, in every way. The world has lost a quality, lovely person. I am so very sorry for her loved ones. They were blessed to have her in their lives.

My condolences to Mathew, Kyle and Families and Larry, Wayne, Debbie and families. Cheryl was a friend I grew up with in Eriksdale. I was very fortunate to have reconnected with Cheryl since 2000. I enjoyed the time spent with her since. She hadn’t changed at all. Still beautiful inside and out. I also will miss her.

  9. Frances Seyer :

My delightful experiences with Cheryl have sadly come to an end, but I will always remember her as she was in Arizona: chuckling when she made a bad golf shot, giggling when we found ourselves on the wrong road, laughing as the four of us shared dinner and played cards in the evening and smiling proudly when she arrived home from a shopping trip with gifts for her grandchildren.

I admired her many qualities, chief among them her poise and dignity. However, her uncanny ability to “read” people and connect with them, along with her willingness to assume responsibilities, never failed to amaze me.

I did not know Cheryl in her parenting or professional roles. I knew her as a friend, and through that friendship my life has been enriched. I will miss her.

My condolences to the family. I know tears will be shed and hearts will feel empty, but I hope, in time, these sad times will be pushed aside in favour of memories of happy loving times with this wonderful woman.
