For Gerry’s sister, his son and his family:

I worked with your Father for about 5 years while stationed with Canadian Pacific in Winnipeg.-1988 to 1993. I then retired. We became good friends.

Gerry looked after my friends and our guests with such unfailing good humor and expert cuisine to the extent that I almost regarded him as PART of that family……. One very special time was his interest in my elder brother’s wife – when he learned she was a ‘war bride’ from Watford, England – a northern suburb of London. He absolutely could NOT do enough for her. The connection was very apparent and very impressive. The entire family came to know about Gerry as a consequence.

My wife also mourns Gerry’s passing as she enjoyed his company on many occasions – and also – at our residence when he assisted at our annual Christmas cocktail parties held for the Region’s officers and their wives.

We have stayed in touch through the past 25 years by exchanging Christmas greetings. When I didn’t hear from him at Christmas 2017- I was a little concerned that something might have happened – I hope it was not too difficult nor too extended.

Gerry was a GREAT friend and business associate. I have many good memories of him and will miss him. He will ALWAYS live in my memory !! My wife and I extend very sincere best wishes to you and your family – going forward.

    Sincerely.

    Charlie Pike
