PHILPS, (PHILLIPS) Robert

January 6, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta

Bob was born on November 10, 1934 and passed away at the age of 84 at the Foothills Medical Centre on January 6, 2019. He is survived by the love of his life, his devoted wife of 46 years, Marlene; his loving daughter Pamela (Dave) Kennedy; his sons, Wayne (Kim) and Terrence (Karen); his stepson Dean; his four wonderful grandchildren, Dustin, Madison, Alexandra and Kade; and a large extended family.

Bob spent most of life in various forms of law enforcement before taking a retirement job at Stampede Toyota. He loved country life and he and Marlene lived in the Priddis area for 44 years. Bob enjoyed talking to people and truly valued his friends. He was a member of the Calgary Southridge Lions Club for over 30 years, the Ogden Seniors Club, Citizens on Patrol and the Royal Canadian Legion for 51 years.

  1. My deepest condolences to everyone in the Philps family and all who knew Bob.
    I got to know Bob through my sister who is married to Bob’s son Wayne Philps.
    I enjoyed some interesting conversations with Bob at family get togethers , he had many life experiences to share. I’m sure he will be missed greatly by many, and always remembered.

  2. My sympathies to the Philps family. I met Bob through my cousin Kim who is married to Wayne, Bob’s son. Bob had a twinkle in his eye and was so kind to me. I will miss our conversations and will think of him fondly and smile.
