PEATCH, Jean Margaret

October 26, 1921 – Carbon, AB
September 2, 2016 – Calgary, AB

Jean Peatch passed away peacefully on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the age of 94 years.

Jean lived the majority of her life in Calgary in the Windsor Park area. She and her husband Bill, and later, her children Ron and Brenda, all bowled in the Windsor Park bowling league. She was an active member of the community, running the Bingo and also as a Brownie Leader. She had a passion for gardening and her yard was immaculate and was always full of flowers and vegetables. She enjoyed music and loved to dance. She had been an avid knitter and made baby sweaters and hats, afghans, dishcloths and numerous other items for those she cared for. Jean never missed sending out a card for birthdays and anniversaries and always found just the perfect card for the occasion. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a caring aunt and good neighbour.

Jean is survived by her daughter Brenda Peatch; daughter-in-law Debbie Peatch; grandchildren Amy (Shaun) Cowan and Amanda (Corey) Gibson; and four great-grandchildren, Claire, Cruz, Adelyn and Cullen. She also leaves behind her brother Stan Skerry and sister Sandra Witt along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean was predeceased by her loving husband Bill Peatch and most recently by her son Ron Peatch.

We would like to thank the caring staff at Seton Agecare for their dedication to Moms’ care over the past year. We are also grateful for her personal companion Jackie.

We love you and miss you, but we know you are now at peace.

A Private Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Jean Peatch, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Fish Creek, 14441 BANNISTER ROAD S.E. Telephone: 403-256-9575.

Condolence Messages

  1. Aunty Jean was a wonderful woman. She helped to fill a hole in my heart when my mom (her sister Jessie) passed 44 years ago. She never forgot my birthday and I looked forward to getting her card in the mail every year because I knew that she picked it out just for me. Quite often they brought tears to my eyes. Aunty Jean always took the time to look her best even in her later years. She loved a party and threw some of the best birthday bashes. I loved her dearly and know that she is having an amazing reunion right now with all the loved ones that have passed before her. Rest in peace Aunty Jean and may we meet again some day.

  3. I had the pleasure of doing Jeans hair for many years. I heard many stories about her family and how proud she was of them. We sure did share a lot of laughs! She was a very easy person to talk to and firm when you were asking advise on life situations! She was not afraid to hold back! I think of her now with a smile and I take comfort knowing she is at peace and she is with family. I am also so very sad to hear of the passing of her son Ron.

My thoughts and condolences to her family
