  11. Absolutely shocked, to find out, so belatedly, that my only cousin, Val. has passed away! Surely, too young! So much to live for!. I am heart-sick, and heart-sore, today. Remembering a young , vibrant girl, with long dark hair, who married the love of her life, Eddy, and was blessed with two lovely daughters, who were the world to her.
I remember how she came looking for me, in my hotel, on my first visit to Canada, in 1978; I arrived, unannounced, – to her parents’ house, only to find out they had gone away for their normal summer vacation, to the East coast. The neighbour knew she worked in a bank, but didn’t know which one. After we had left, disappointed, the neighbour phoned around, and located Val, Jr. Sitting in a bar that evening, in walks this bubbly young girl, with long dark hair, and looks at us, and says…”are you who I think you are ( I came from New Zealand),; and I said the same back, and so we met , for the first time, cousins across the oceans. She , and Eddy were very good to us, let us stay at her parents’ place, (who were due home in 1 week, or so), showed us round, and took us out. She was the first relative, of my family I had ever met. On my next trip to Canada, she and Eddy were already parents to Nicola, ( Nicola Piccola), who was only 18 months old then. And I stayed a week with her, and got to know her a little bit more.I had never met any other family, apart from my own.
I cannot believe this dear girl is gone! I didn’t even know she was sick! My heart is sore, especially for her 2 girls, and her dear dad, Chuck, who must be grieving terribly now. The only consolation, is knowing that she is now re-united with her loved ones, her mum, her husband. I firmly believe this. And I know that they will all be a shield of love and strength, for Nicola and Amber, watching over them, guarding them, guiding them,…in their dreams, in a memory, in a special moment. They will never be far away, and one day, in the dim, distant future, they will all be waiting, to show the rest of us, the way, to the other side,/ place, / dimension.
But for now, I know the grief is real and raw. Our most Sincerest and Deepest Condolences., to Nicola, Amber,…and Chuck. You will be in our prayers, from now on. Look out for each other. She needs to know that you will be safe, united, and, eventually,…happy again.
    With Love, Sylvia Gazdarica
