March 7, 1923 – April 21, 2013

Alma Ostwald of Calgary, passed away on April 21, 2013 at the age of 90 years.

Alma was born in the Burstall District of Alberta. She met her husband Ed after the war while he was still in uniform in Medicine Hat and they married shortly thereafter. Alma and Ed lived in Medicine Hat until 1957 then moved to Calgary. She had a strong Christian faith and attended Glamorgan Church of God since 1957. She had a love for life and enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family. Alma had a quick wit and a sense of humor. She loved playing cards and games. Family was her biggest passion in life and she will be greatly missed.

Alma is survived by two daughters; Darlene (Duane), Kathryn (Robert); granddaughters Amanda, Christy (Jason), Mary, Karin, Anna; great grandchildren Elise, Kamryn, Ethan; sister Louise, brother John.

Alma was predeceased by her husband Edward, son Ronald, sister Erna, and brothers Robert and Reinhold.

Funeral Services will be held at Glamorgan Church (4715 – 45 Street SW Calgary, AB) on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be forwarded through In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial tributes in Alma’s name can be made to the Veterans Food Bank 1 – 4539 6 Street NE Calgary, Alberta T2E 3Z6 or to Glamorgan Church 4715 – 45 Street SW Calgary, AB T3E 3W5
