NUNN, Russell Arthur Leo

October 13, 1927 – Ingersoll, Ontario
June 22, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta

Russ Nunn of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at the age of 90 years.

Russ has made the peaceful journey to be with his wife Marion (d. 2016). Russ was born on October 13, 1927 in Ingersoll, ON to Arthur and Marguerite Nunn. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Barb (Randy) James, Kelly (Betty) Nunn, Judy (Trevor) Smith; his wonderful grandchildren, Annie (Spencer) Wilson, Emily (Mitch) Nunn, Ethan Nunn, Ryan Smith, and Tyler Smith, and his adorable great-granddaughter, Calleigh Wilson, plus many extended family and friends.

Russ was a maverick in the house building and land development industry in Alberta. Along the way he built a lasting reputation for his fairness and tenacity in closing the deal.

Following his retirement Russ and Marion travelled the world and “snow birded” in Rancho Mirage, California, where they enjoyed golfing, martinis on the patio, and desert sunsets. Over the years Russ and Marion were fortunate to befriend so many fantastic people both near and far.

Our family wishes to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nurses of Russ’ medical team, the terrific staff and residents of the Silvera Westview senior’s home, and all the special people who made Russ’ life so enjoyable.

In Russ’ own words “I DID IT MY WAY!!

A private family service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be forwarded through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.

In living memory of Russ Nunn, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Park Memorial, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Calgary, AB, T2S 2L5, Telephone: 403-243-8200.

    Hello Barb,
I was sorry to hear of your father’s passing. It’s a sad time for us when both of our parents are gone. There is comfort in knowing they lived their lives “their way”. Sending you peace and love,

I had the great privilege of having Russ as a mentor in the early stages of my career. He was always generous with his support and wisdom, both to myself and others. Marion and he became good friends to my wife and I in later years. He will be remembered fondly. My condolences to his family.

Our sincere condolence’s to all the family of Russ Nunn. Russ and I have been friends for many years and during the last while after he lost his mobility we spent many lunch times together and shared many stories of our past lives and of course a few laughs went along with the stories. I will miss him as he was a very fine gentleman and great to spend time with. I know you will have fond memories of Russ to help during this trying period.>Sincerely Barry McDonald

  11. Gwen and Ian Burgess :

To the Family of Russ Nunn
It’s hard to say condolences in the same sentence as “Russ Nunn”. He may have done it “MY WAY” , but it was always the best way – or at least the fairest way – if you were there.
It was great to have known and talked with him – even if we were fighting over Church Pews at the time.
He will be redesigning the Pearly Gates (with Marion’s help) as they settle in to the “Good Place”! Goodbye and God bless Good Friend! Gwen and Ian Burgess and Family
