NICOL, Alerin Glen

September 13, 1966 – Swift Current, Saskatchewan
July 6, 2016 – Calgary, Alberta

Alerin, our beloved brother, uncle and special friend passed away suddenly at the South Calgary Health Campus on July 6, 2016 succumbing to his battle with cancer.

Alerin was an accomplished welder; he established a successful venture in his own business, Fusion Works Welding. He was an avid outdoorsman and his main passions were hunting, fishing, and he loved to compete in sporting clays competitions. He competed at the highest shot level winning several awards.

Alerin will be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Selene (Burt) Anderson of Seven Persons, AB and Anita (Walter) Bilych of Okotoks, AB.; his brother-in-law, Randy (Lisa) Olson, of Consul, SK.; as well as, his nieces and nephews, Kirstine (Sadik), Bryce (Kerry), Alyssa (Jarrod), Shayla (Jesse), Cassie (Dylan), Spenser (Gabrielle) and Sidney (Bailey). He will also be remembered by special friend Denine Thingvold. Alerin was pre-deceased by his parents, Glen and Gloria Nicol; and his sister Sylvia Olson.

A celebration of Alerin’s life is planned for July 16, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 pm at Silver Willow Gun Club (30133-Range Road 20, Mountain View County, AB.) www.silverwillow.ca If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200 – 325 Manning Rd.   4. I met Alerin a couple of years ago through his neighbors Diane and Borris Sadownick as a result of expressing an interest in shooting Sporting Clays. Alerin and I enjoyed several trips to Silver Willow where he generously shared his skill and enthusiasm for the sport he loved. He will be missed.
