NICHOLS, George Rymal

George Rymal Nichols passed away at home on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the age of 71 years after a brief battle with cancer.

George was predeceased by his parents Pearl and John Nichols and his treasured granddaughter Marley Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Mary; wonderful granddaughter Brady Joy Nichols; son, Brad Nichols and his wife Maria and her daughter Caitlin; George’s daughter, Tracy Ellis and her husband Brendan. George is also survived by his sister Bev and her husband Clair and nephews, Jeff and Andrew.

George took a quiet pride in his kids, Brad and Tracy and granddaughters, Brady and Marley and was very proud of their accomplishments. George enjoyed watching all sports and participating as a teen and young man in hockey and fastball. He was a skilled fastball pitcher and played for many years in various leagues including Cory Coffee and the Men’s Petroleum Fastball League for Home Oil. He went to work for Home Oil at the age of nineteen and stayed through several corporate takeovers until taking an early retirement at the age of fifty-seven. George was a hard-working, honest, dependable man and he will be greatly missed.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home. www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
